The pursuit of common ideals
We live by our commitment to providing a relevant education, that is ethical, socially responsible and respects individuals and the environment. We are devoted to the everyday care of those we nurture, of our community, society and the planet.
We firmly believe that to be truly relevant, our schools must be sustainable and work actively towards building a promising future. Our purpose is to offer an education that has a positive impact not only within the school walls but in our wider communities and beyond.
Education is more than a human right; it is an irrevocable asset that promotes good citizenship and civic involvement. It empowers our young people giving them agency to shape their own lives in the way they choose. We understand our role and responsibility as a global educator and know that quality education is not only important for individual development, but for the evolution of society.
It all starts with education.
Social & environmental responsibility
Every programme and practice at our school speaks to the very core of our values: making a difference; understanding and embracing responsible citizenship; and seeking always to influence others positively.
Our responsibilities are not only to the children in our care but to the growth of society more broadly. Our management concept puts social and environmental considerations at the forefront of our business operations and interactions with our local and global communities.

We strive to make education accessible to more than our own children. We design and fund impactful, sustainable, and scalable programmes that aim to provide quality education to young people who grow up in difficult environments, regardless of their background or circumstances. Our support programmes focus on early childhood development, access to quality Primary and Secondary education, technical and vocational education, and training for youth as well as a particular focus on education in emergencies and protracted crises. The welcoming of displaced children from Ukraine to all St.George´s schools is a humanitarian initiative we continue to deliver. Here, at least, we can offer a beacon of normality and routine, with added support and friendship to those who are vulnerable, and for whom life has so recently become one of suffering and hardship. We believe children should be a key consideration in our environmental, social and corporate governance considerations (ESG). Today’s children will grow up to be tomorrow’s adults – our future workforce, business owners, investors, customers, and community stakeholders. Investing in building an equitable world for all children and young people means ensuring the future of global businesses, markets, and communities. This ethos defines who we are and what we do. |
Diversity & inclusion
Deeply rooted in the philosophy of our founder, diversity, equity, respect and inclusion are woven into the very fabric of our promise to children and employees.
As educators, we have the critical responsibility of ensuring every student feels valued, heard, and seen in the classroom. This requires more than just including diverse topics and perspectives in the lesson plan. The richness and variety of our students and staff is reflected every day in our teaching, our policies and practices. Diversity helps us to adapt and to flourish in a changing world, so we explore practical ways to embed it within both the curriculum and our learning environments to celebrate and support all backgrounds, races, ethnicity, genders, abilities, cultures, and sexual orientations. We provide enriching educational and human experiences, that allow all staff and students to feel a strong sense of belonging in the school.

Pastoral care & safeguarding
St.George’s is a place where children love to come to school. Ours is a culture of growth, of value and opportunity, where exceptional pastoral care allows young people to thrive in the safety of a healthy and nurturing environment, nourished, appreciated, and supported to be themselves.
Class and form tutors serve as the pupils’ primary point of contact for pastoral care, diligently monitoring their wellbeing daily and maintaining strong communication with parents to ensure a comprehensive support system. They have dedicated time built into the day to meet with students to discuss their academic progress, targets, aspirations, and any concerns they may have. Additionally, Heads of Department are always available to both pupils and parents to address any matters that arise, ensuring ongoing support and guidance throughout the school year.
The PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, and Economic) programme is an integral part of our pastoral care and safeguarding framework. It provides a structured and age-appropriate approach to teaching crucial topics, including emotional wellbeing, relationships, and personal safety. This programme ensures that students receive the support and education they need to navigate their personal development and build a safe, supportive school environment.

Pupils participate in regular assemblies which are time to share success and important messages. It is also a time to reflect on events taking place both in school and the wider world, or on issues that might be of particular importance to young people. In addition, all pupils follow a programme focussed on their personal and social development, learning about and discussing issues that are relevant to them and their growth. Our pastoral teams are well-supported by an excellent counselling team and further strengthened through the student leadership body, including Prefects and Peer Mentors. |
Health & wellbeing
We are committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people in our care and our culture of trust, psychological safety, positive challenge and support creates the conditions for each individual to be at their best. We strive to create flourishing students, teachers and families through our broad range of wellbeing initiatives and strategies.
Our approach is multifaceted, ensuring that their welfare is addressed with care and expertise. We are proud of our dedicated wellbeing teams and the student leaders who support the school's initiatives for physical and mental wellness.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead, trained as an ‘insoweit erfahrene Fachkraft’ according to German law, is dedicated to overseeing child protection, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing. This specialist is pivotal in monitoring and addressing any concerns related to student safety and welfare, ensuring a secure and supportive environment for all. In addition, our school counsellor is readily available to support students with their emotional concerns. This professional provides a confidential space for pupils to discuss and navigate personal challenges, promoting mental health and emotional resilience. We also have a pupil mediation system in place, designed to address and resolve minor conflicts through constructive conversations with peers. This system encourages students to engage in dialogue and find amicable solutions, fostering a positive and collaborative school community. Furthermore, we collaborate with local specialists, including nutritionists, medical experts, and therapists, to address specific needs and provide tailored support. This network of professionals helps ensure that each student’s individual health and wellbeing requirements are met effectively. Together, these initiatives equip all students to deal with the many challenges and triumphs that life throws their way, empowering them to make healthy lifestyle choices and thrive both academically and personally. |
Ethics & compliance
The success of St.George‘s depends on respect for the shared rules, practices and principles that guide us day-to-day.
The St.George’s School group has always been strongly committed to exemplary integrity and ethics in the conduct of its business and in its relations with all stakeholders. Rules of conduct, principles and guidelines governing ethics and environmental and social responsibility have been defined to establish the behaviour required of the Group’s executives and employees, as well as our partners and suppliers.
Child protection
At St.George’s School, Child Protection and Safeguarding are our foremost priorities. We are dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment where every child can thrive. Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) plays a crucial role in ensuring that child protection procedures are rigorously followed and continuously updated.
We uphold the highest standards for all staff and volunteers, who are subject to comprehensive scrutiny to ensure their suitability for working with young children. Our commitment extends beyond local regulations; we adhere to the world-leading best practices in safeguarding as outlined by the Council or British International Schools (COBIS). This rigorous approach guarantees that we provide a secure and supportive environment that prioritises the wellbeing and safety of every student.
